CAMPSITE UPDATE – 30th March 2021

Great News!

We have now been told we can open ALL our washing facilities including the toilet and shower block with social distancing in place, from the 12th April.

We are currently looking at the details and will post further information when we know more.

Sorry for all of you who cancelled or transferred your bookings, we received a letter yesterday afternoon from Cornwall Council.

CAMPSITE UPDATE – 11th March 2021

We have now received clarification from Cornwall Council and unfortunately our shared facilities (toilets, showers, washing up facilities) are not allowed to open before 17th May at the earliest.

We can therefore open on the 12th April for those who are self-sufficient with their own toilet, shower and washing facilities. This can include tents and trailer tents.

The water and chemical waste points will be open for those who are self-sufficient, and we are waiting for clarification as to whether we can open the laundry with a booking system and will let you know ASAP.

For those who are not self-sufficient and were due to stay before the 17th May we will offer a full refund or transfer of booking to either this year or 2022.

However due to high demand we are now full for May half term, most of July and all of August, until approximately the 29th August. There is limited availability left for June and September is also booking up very quickly. We have full availability from the 12th April until the 29th May.

We have not yet opened our bookings for 2022 and when we do, priority will be given to those who have been cancelled due to covid restrictions in 2021. Your patience and understanding are much appreciated in this matter.

For those of you who have booked before the 17th May and are not self-contained, please contact us by email if you would like a full refund or to transfer your booking.

If you are self-contained and wish to stay, you do not need to contact us.

The shop will be open this season and we will make further announcements at a later stage on social distancing measures that will be in place.

We wish you all well and look forward to opening on the 12th April.

Take Care

CAMPSITE UPDATE – 3rd March 2021

Following the Government’s recent announcement, we are planning to reopen from Monday 12th April 2021.

We are however waiting for further clarification on the use of communal areas and shared facilities (including toilet blocks and showers) and will advise on this as soon as possible.

We will do our best to keep you as up to date as possible, but as this is a complex and ever-changing situation, please always check the relevant Government websites for the very latest information on Coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance and support – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

When we reopen, we encourage all guests to use the voluntary NHS Test & Trace App to register their attendance at our site.

On the 12th April each booking must only comprise of guests from one household and we will not be able to allow visitors on-site to meet with other guests to help keep campers and staff safe at this time.

From Monday 17th May at the earliest, the UK will hopefully be ready to move to the next step, and we will give further guidance on new policy’s and restrictions once they are confirmed. If you have an urgent query, please email camping@gwithianfarm.co.uk and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We look forward to seeing everyone this year.

Take care

Gwithian Farm Campsite

Sorry we are fully booked from approximately the 25th July until 26th August 2021.

2021 update – 27th January 2021

A brief update –

It is our intention to start our season on the 26th March with all the campsite facilities open, and we are looking forward to welcoming back all campers.

However, these are difficult times and we will follow all government guidelines as they evolve.

If Covid restrictions are in place, we will offer to transfer your booking or offer a full refund.

We will keep in touch via Facebook and Instagram and update our website if there are any changes.

Take care everyone, hope you are all ok.

CAMPSITE UPDATE – 3rd August 2020

Due to the continued uncertainty with the Coronavirus, we have regrettably come to the decision that the toilet/shower block will remain closed all season.

We will remain open for Caravans and Motorhomes only in August with full onboard facilities.

In September, self-contained campervans will be able to stay, however they must have a toilet, sink and detachable shower.

This gentle opening, with reduced capacity and social distancing has worked well so far and feels very safe.

We would like to thank all of those who have stayed and respected this.

We are truly sorry that we are unable to accept any tent bookings this year.

Thank you for your continued support, we wish you well.

23rd June 2020

Dear all,
After a long-awaited announcement by the Government, we can finally confirm we will open on Saturday 4th July.

Once we open, the safety of our guests, staff, family and the community remains paramount. With this in mind, we are very sad to announce that we are unable to accommodate any tents this year, and will only be accepting motor homes and caravans with their own onboard shower, toilet and washing up facilities.

The toilet block will remain closed during July and August. This will be reviewed in September. This is for the safety of staff and everyone on the campsite.
Opening the campsite with reduced numbers will support local businesses, whilst hopefully making sure all medical services and our 1 main hospital in Cornwall can cope.

For everyone with a tent booking, you will be offered the chance to rearrange your holiday for 2021 or a full refund of your deposit paid. We are very sorry for cancelling your holiday at this very difficult time.

For those campers wishing to transfer your booking to 2021, please complete a new booking form, from our website www.gwithianfarm.co.uk . Please add in the comments box the amount of deposit paid and any requests. This will make it much easier to transfer your booking. If you require a refund, please email the office camping@gwithianfarm.co.uk . It will be an enormous task to transfer and refund bookings, please note it may take longer than normal to hear back from us. We will reply as soon as we can.
This decision has not been taken lightly. Many of you have stayed with us for years, and we know you will be devastated by this news. We know that lots of you will have been affected by the Corona Virus and our thoughts are with you all.

We would like to thank you for all your kind messages, willingness to transfer bookings to 2021 and your continued support.

For those staying, social distancing measures will have to be in place for the foreseeable future and we will confirm as soon as possible what new measures we will put in place. Detailed below are the initial terms of opening and will be reviewed on a rolling basis:

-1 member of the household in reception/shop only. No under 16’s will be allowed in the shop.
-Parcels or postal deliveries will not be permitted
-Supermarket deliveries will not be allowed
-Sorry no visitors onsite
-There will be no out of hours reception. Please call the office and leave a message with any urgent problems 01736 753127.
-Final payments need to be made in advance over the telephone by debit or credit card before arrival.
-All units must abide the Governments social distancing measures.
-The laundry room will be open.
-You will need to bring your own sanitisers, gloves and PPE required for your family for the duration of your stay.
-Check in time will be from 12pm – 6pm only. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate late arrivals due to the risk of our family and staff who live on site.
-You must not travel if you or any of your family have Covid 19 symptoms, are unwell or vulnerable, or if you have been contacted by the NHS track and trace.
-We are hoping to have independent food vans on site, this will be confirmed as soon as possible.
-There will be no freezers for ice pack or ice.
-The guinea pigs, table tennis and sand pit area will be closed.
-The shop will be open for basic provisions only, contactless payment is preferred.
-There will be no wetsuit or board hire this year.
-The wetsuit wash will be open.
If you become unwell with Covid 19 symptoms during your stay, you must follow government guidelines, as they evolve.

We appreciate this is a substantial change to your holiday in these difficult times.
Thank you for your cooperation and we wish you all well.
The Team, Gwithian Farm Campsite.

1st June 2020

Hi, I wish we had more news about how and when we can open, however nothing has changed.

The Government/ Public Health advice remains the same, “that SOME hospitality Businesses MAY be able to open on the 4th July at the EARLIEST”.  This does not necessarily mean that we will be permitted to open on the 4th July.

The decision to open is not in our hands, we will follow government/public health advice.

As yet, no advice has been given on how and when campsites can open.

As soon as any decisions are made, we will let you know ASAP via our website, Instagram and Facebook.

We have received no additional advice or guidance  from the government and are waiting for advice from the daily briefings and national news.

We appreciate many of you are desperate for a holiday, after a really tough few months.

We look forward to seeing you as soon as possible.

Do take care and stay safe

The Team,

Gwithian Farm Campsite

21st May 2020

Sorry we are not taking any new bookings for 2020 or 2021.
We are only taking bookings for those campers rescheduling due to Covid. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Covid 19 Update 12th May

Sadly, following the recent announcement, we will not be able to open until July at the earliest.

Obviously this is disappointing for all of us and we wish you all well.

Thank you for your messages of support, your patience and understanding.

For campers with bookings before the 1st July, you can rearrange your booking for later in the year or 2021 or if this is not possible then we will offer a refund.

Please email the office with your booking details, and we will get back to you as soon as possible, this may take longer than usual.

As soon as any decisions are made we will update our website and social media.

Take care and stay safe

The team.

Covid 19 Update

It is with great sadness that due to the current Covid 19 situation we will postpone the opening of the campsite. We will be monitoring the situation in line with Government advice and will open as soon as it is safe for all.

We will be keeping on all our staff during this period of uncertainty, and have made this difficult decision to protect our staff, campers and our family.

If you have a booking before 15th May, please do not travel. You can rearrange your booking for later in the year or 2021 or if this is not possible then we will offer a refund.

Please email the office with your booking details, and we will get back to you as soon as possible, this may take longer than usual.

We will continue to follow Public Health advice and will make a further statement  as soon as the situation becomes clear.

Please take care and stay safe.

All at Gwithian farm campsite.
